Ellis D. (Bud) Rainsberger

Bud is a graduate of Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan., where he received his bachelors degree in accounting.  While at Kansas State, Bud played strong safety for the Wildcats. A frequent lecturer to civic and professional groups nationwide, he has appeared as a financial commentator on television news interviews for NBC and CBS affiliates.  Bud has been interviewed and quoted for articles in USA Today, The Dow Jones Investment Advisor and The Wall Street Journal.
 
His firm has been honored in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 by Bloomberg  magazine as being one of the top Wealth Advisory firms in the nation. In 2001, Nelson’s Money Manager Review selected his Core Equity/Balanced portfolio performance as one of the Top 20 in the Nation. 
 
Bud started his financial career for A.G. Becker, the predecessor to SEI, in Chicago in 1980.  He has been affiliated with the securities industry ever since.  He serves as the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer and Wealth Advisor to individual and corporate clients around the nation. 
Founder and President of Rainsberger Wealth Advisors Inc. and its predecessors since 1990, the firm has earned the trust and valued client relationships it now enjoys with clients throughout the United States and Southwest region.
Bud also is the Managing Partner of Pinnacle Mountain Builders Inc., a real estate development company in Colorado Springs and sits on the board of directors of Value Direct International, a China-based manufacturing company that makes snowboards, bindings and winter sports related athletic gear. 
Bud is the past Treasurer for Grace Episcopal Church in Hutchinson, Kan., past Board Member for the local Kansas chapter of the American Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America and a past member of the Hutchinson Recreation Commission.  He coaches youth soccer, basketball and volunteers in the community.
Married to the lovely Lisa, who is a multi-sport coach, event director and retired world-record-setting runner.  They have four children, Meghan 24, a financial analyst for Conoco-Phillips in Bartlesville, Okla.; Kris, 22, in Boulder, Colo.; Katie, a very beautiful 9 year old who’s nuts about soccer and writing, and the latest redhead, Ian, now 6 years old and enjoying soccer and being a boy. 
Bud enjoys running, having ran the Boston Marathon in 2000 and 2005 along with his other hobbies which include mountain biking, skiing and woodworking whenever it gets too cold to run or bike.







Cathy Hillyard - Client Services

Cathy is our Client Services contact.  Cathy brings over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry providing a vast knowledge base of the industry.  She was elected to the "Presidents's Circle" at one of her firms for serving in an administrative position.  Shes joined RWA in February of 2010.
 
Cathy grew up in New Jersey and arrived in Colorado Springs in 2000.  Cathy volunteers in the community and particularly at Woodman Valley Chapel, where she serves as camera operator and on other volunteer projects.  In her free time she also enjoys hiking with the Colorado Mountain Club and skiing.
 
Cathy has two lovely grown children.  Her daugher is married and lives in Colorado Springs, while working for one of the top five accounting firms as a junior accountant.  Her son is a senior at Colorado University in Boulder studying to be an architect.
 
Cathy looks forward to the new opportunities and challenges associated with client services.

 
 
   










Lisa L. Rainsberger – Marketing

A 1984 graduate from The University of Michigan with a degree in Exercise Science. Lisa earned All-America honors in three sports at U of M: Swimming, Cross Country and Track and Field. Lisa has a varied background as both a professional athlete and coach, setting a number of world and USA records during her running and triathlon careers.  Lisa coached triathlete Susan Williams to a bronze medal in the 2000 Athens, Greece Olympics.

Lisa brings to RWA a wealth of experience in the business and fitness world. Lisa is our marketing director and is actively involved in bringing her knowledge of our business- both as a former client, and as a business owner. She is also instrumental in developing our marketing strategy we aptly have named “Your Personal Financial Fitness”. Lisa also owns Training Goals.com, an Internet based coaching company (www.TrainingGoals.com), and is the race director for events such as the Kokopelli Kids Trail Running Series, The Springs Splash and Dash, and The Mayor’s Cup events in Colorado Springs

 
















Brian D. Singleton J.D.

Brian is originally from Northeast Ohio where he attended Kent State University.  While there, Brian was a three-time NCAA Division I Wrestling National Qualifier, Two-time Mid America Conference Champion, Two-time OHSAA wrestling state champion and named the MVP for the State wrestling tournament in 1994.  After finishing his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Pre-Law in 2000, Brian attended the University of Akron School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor degree, specializing in estate planning and business law. While at Akron, Brian was the recipient of the Millennium Board of Trustee’s Scholarship. He brings over 8 years of estate and business planning as a client centered advocate specializing in helping business owners and families plan for their futures.  Brian has developed a unique program that focuses on helping clients  create a bigger future for themselves and their families.
 
He has served on the Board of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, and has attended “The International Forum” and The Legacy Companies Wealth Coach™ coaching program.  This is a coaching program for advisors who have a core belief in taking a values-based approach when working with their clients. 
 
Brian has a passion for lifetime learning and when he is not spending time with his clients you may find him working out or reading.        
 
 
Christy Eiler Ward 
 
Christy received her BS in Management from the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and her MBA from the Bentley Graduate School of Business located in Waltham, MA. Christy was a 4-year all-conference USAFA volleyball player and competed in the Military World Games in Rome, Italy as a USA team-member. She managed million dollar military programs as an Acquisitions Program Manager and taught courses in Management and Investments as an Instructor at USAFA. Christy currently serves on the Board for the Stratton Open Space non-profit Cheyenne Commons and completed terms on the Mary Starsmore Fund Board and the USAFA Association of Graduates Class Advisory Senate. Christy and her husband Bruce have three boys, and she enjoys hiking, writing, and painting
